Can Contact with Higher-self Happen?
Can we really contact the higher-self? Yes, we can contact the higher-self, whenever we wish to. Typically, a person contacts the higher-self through meditation or some other altered states of consciousness. The higher-self comes through for a lot of writers and artist. Writing and art can be forms of meditation. Sometimes the higher-self comes through automatically. Have you ever done or said something and thought where did that come from? I didn’t mean to say or do that. But, I am glad that I did. That was the higher-self coming through. It usually feels like someone else is talking or doing something through your body.
This happened to me at a very inappropriate time. It happened to me at my mother’s funeral. They were putting her into the ground and I called out the name Irene. My mother had an aunt Irene, whom she was very close to. We even lived next door to her at one time. Irene was a very spiritual woman and most likely the only one in my family I could talk to about spiritual stuff after my mother was gone. I thought I had no one to talk to about the spiritual side of life. In the middle of my mother’s casket being lowered into the ground, without even realizing it, I yelled out the name Irene Brenna. It was just as much of a surprise to me as it was to everyone else. I did not know it then, but it was my higher-self telling to talk to my great aunt Irene. Sadly, I never saw Irene. She died a few years after my mother did.
Higher self will communicate by impulses, symbols, visions, sounds, and even smells that form messages into awareness. Everyone is different and has different perspectives, so the meanings of the messages from the higher-self will be different to everyone. It is our job to figure out what these messages mean and apply them to our lives.
A word of caution: Messages can come from anywhere or anyone. Meaning messages are not always the higher-self. Messages can come from guides, guardians, angels, and other entities. One must develop perfect discernment. Learning how to tell who the messages are coming from and if they are coming from a place the highest good. This takes time and practice. Even the greatest spiritual masters can make mistakes in this area. One of the easiest ways to know, if you are getting messages from good spirits, is the way they speak. Is the voice genital and kind? What is the tone coming through? What is the message? Is it for your highest good and the good of others?
Communication from the higher-self is a mystery to most to most people. Yet, there are those who have open communication with their higher-selves. There are a variety of ways in which communication can take place. Often, these communications are through what is called the “Clair senses.”
Clair senses are a collective word, meaning the guiding communication. It can use any of the following psychic sensitivity, which co-mingles the physical body’s normal senses. The senses and the Clair sense are:
Clairaudience- Clairaudience perceives sounds (or words) that a person can actually hear when, in fact, no one is speaking and nothing physical is causing the sounds. The sounds are thought to be impressions that register themselves on the spirilla of the ears through the pineal gland. Believed clairaudience sounds go through the same process that normal hearing does, passing through the Third Eye chakra of the head.
This is the most common way people are psychic. Clairaudience often starts at a young age. It was the first that showed up for me. When I was a young girl, I often heard my name being called, when no one had called me.
Clairsavorance – Clairsavorance translates as clear tasting. The person experiences tastes in the mouth without actually putting anything physically in the mouth. I have never experienced Clairsavorance, but I know people who have.
Clairscient – Clairscient means to smell a fragrance or odor of a substance which is not physical in your direct environment or nature. Clairscient is one of my favorite Clair scenes because I often smell sage and roses. I know my grandpa is with me when I smell sage. When I smell roses, it’s usually Mother Mary or a feminine entity. When I smell baby power, it means my grandmother is close.
Clairsentience – Clairsentience allows a person to perceive information as a feeling within the whole body with no other stimuli related to this feeling or information.
Clairvoyance – Clairvoyance means to see into an ethereal dimension without using physical eyes. Some describe it as reaching into another vibration frequency and visually perceive “within the head” something like moving pictures. The third eye area of the forehead is one of the strongest communication centers that the higher-self frequently uses to communicate.
Every person has these gifts, even if they are not fully aware of them. They are like any other skills. If we do not practice them, we lose them. We just have not used them and practiced them. That is why there are some people who are not aware of them. If we practice them, we can develop them.
I have found the more you develop your spirituality, the more you end up developing these gifts. Everyone is different and develops differently. So we all have unique gifts that are at different strengths. When I first started in my spiritual practices, I was totally Clairaudient. The messages I got came from me hearing them. Over my thirty years of spiritual practices, I have developed the other ones to different degrees.
While the Clair senses are a great way to develop your spirituality and connect with your guides, guardians and angels, there are other ways to connect to the higher-self. It is my belief that our inner wisdom or intuition is our direct connection to our higher-self. Reiki and other spiritual energy healing practices can help develop the connection to our higher-selves.
