Poem: She Answered Her Calling

This poem is about my sister Pam. She was a nurse. I remember how hard she tried to get into nursing school, after she dropped out of high school.  Pam was a nurse for 34 years.  She loved what she did and went out of her way to help people.

She answered her calling, a whisper so clear,
A voice in the silence, one she could hear.
Through valleys of doubt, past shadows of fear,
She rose to the challenge, with strength to steer.

Her heart was a compass, her dreams were the sail,
She faced every storm, though the winds might prevail.
With fire in her spirit, she could not fail,
She answered her calling, and set her own trail.

The world tried to silence, to pull her away,
But she held to her purpose, come night or come day.
She carved out her path in a world gone astray,
With courage as steady as dawn’s first ray.

Her voice now a beacon, a song in the night,
She answered her calling, and claimed her own light.
For in every step, she’s a force, burning bright,
She answered her calling, and took her own flight.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
