Guided Meditation for the Root Chakra (Safe and Grounded)

Introduction: Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can sit or lie down without distractions. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Allow yourself to settle into the present moment. Let go of any tension, stress, or distractions from your day. This time is for you to reconnect with your root chakra, which is your foundation of safety and security.

1. Settling In (1-2 minutes)

Take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs fully. Hold for a moment, then slowly exhale out through your mouth, releasing any tension.

With each breath, feel your body becoming more relaxed, more at ease. Imagine your body becoming heavy and grounded, supported by the Earth beneath you.

2. Connecting with the Root Chakra (2-3 minutes)

Bring your awareness to the base of your spine, where your root chakra resides. Visualize a warm, red light glowing softly in this area. This red light represents your sense of security, safety, and stability.

Imagine this red light growing brighter with each inhale, radiating warmth and comfort. With each exhale, feel any tension or anxiety begin to dissolve, replaced by a deep sense of calm and grounding.

As you focus on this glowing red energy, feel its connection to the Earth beneath you. Visualize a strong, sturdy root extending from your root chakra, traveling deep into the ground, connecting you to the Earth’s solid foundation.

3. Affirmations for Safety and Security (2-3 minutes)

Now, we will repeat a few affirmations to reinforce your sense of safety and security. As you repeat each one, feel the energy of the root chakra becoming stronger, more balanced.

  • “I am safe in this moment.”
  • “I am supported by the Earth beneath me.”
  • “I trust that I am always safe and protected.”
  • “I have all that I need to feel secure.”
  • “I am grounded, calm, and at peace.”
  • “I am safe to be myself.”

Repeat these affirmations silently or aloud. Allow each affirmation to sink deep into your being, knowing that you are safe, secure, and grounded.

4. Releasing Fear and Insecurity (2-3 minutes)

Next, we will focus on releasing any fear or insecurity that may be blocking your root chakra. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine letting go of any feelings of fear, uncertainty, or instability.

Visualize these feelings as dark clouds or heavy energy floating away from your body and dissolving into the Earth. With each exhale, you are releasing these emotions, knowing that they no longer serve you.

Feel yourself becoming lighter and more stable as you release these negative energies. Trust that you are fully supported by the Earth, and that you are always safe.

5. Feeling the Earth’s Support (2-3 minutes)

Now, imagine that from the base of your spine, a cord extends deep into the Earth. Picture this cord traveling through the layers of soil, rock, and ground, until it reaches the center of the Earth, where there is a warm, nurturing energy.

Feel this Earth energy rising up through the cord, into your root chakra, and throughout your entire body. With each breath, feel the Earth’s energy supporting and nurturing you, creating a sense of safety and stability within you.

Feel the Earth’s steady presence beneath you, knowing that you are always supported and protected by its grounding force.

6. Closing and Integration (1-2 minutes)

As we come to the end of this meditation, take a few moments to sit in silence. Feel the warmth of your root chakra, the calmness in your body, and the deep sense of safety that has been created within you.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes, feeling the energy of the Earth still supporting you.

When you’re ready, open your eyes and take a moment to express gratitude for this feeling of safety, security, and grounding.

End of Meditation.

You can return to this meditation anytime you feel the need to reconnect with your sense of safety and groundedness. Always remember that the Earth supports you, and you are always safe.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
