Poem: Be Your Own Hero

Be Your Own Hero

When the night feels louder than your name,
and the map in your hands starts to shake,
remember—heroes aren’t born from applause,
they’re built in the moments you don’t run away.

Be your own hero when no one is watching,
when courage feels thin as a thread.
Stand up for the voice in your chest that says
keep going—even when hope plays dead.

You don’t need a cape, or a story told twice,
or scars that glow in the dark.
Every day you choose to rise again
is proof of how strong you already are.

Fall if you must. Rest if you’re tired.
Just don’t forget this truth you hold:
The bravest thing you’ll ever do
is believe in yourself—bold and whole.

So when the world waits for saving,
start with the mirror, my friend.
The hero you’ve been looking for
is you—again and again.

Thank-you for reading.
