For this poem, I used the writing prompt School.

Proud to Be Different
When I was in School
I was not cool
But I was not blue.
I never desired to be one of the crowd
That was not the place for me.
I was consistently unique
And I was terribly proud
That I was not like anybody else.
I expressed my differences loud.
Young children just did not appreciate
What I was all about.
But that did not make me shout.
I relished in being different
I did not want to be like any of them.
