Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love

Many people are not aware of how important self-love is. It is true you can’t truly love someone else until you love yourself. You may be thinking, I love myself. But do you truly love yourself? No one is perfect and there is always room for improvement. I know you realize this, but because of this thinking, many people do not see themselves as the amazingly beautiful person they are. How we see ourselves is so important. How we see ourselves shows those around us what we expect from them.

If you see yourself in bad ways, so will others. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. People tend to want to live up to the images they see on television. We all need to stop looking towards others for self validation. There is not a person in this world who is not smart, beautiful, creative, and special in their own way.

Of course, even people with the strongest self-love and self-confidence, see themselves in bad ways at different points in their lives. It is very important in those times to remember the wonderful qualities that make you special, kind, creative, loving, beautiful, and unique. After all, every human being is one of a kind and has amazing God-given gifts. When we are feeling bad about ourselves, we forget this and need to remind ourselves of it. You may wonder how to do this? Spiritual healing through journaling is the answer. There are many things you can do through journaling that can help raise your self-esteem and confidence.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love through Prayer and Affirmations

Many years ago, I was one of those people who thought affirmations were silly. I did not think they worked or were any help at all. That was until I started saying them. After a time, they helped a lot. It took time and a lot of work on my part to change my thinking.

If you tell yourself something repeatedly, you believe it. That is why it is so important to turn negative self-talk into positive self-talk. How can you turn negative self-talk into positive self-talk? You can do it by paying attention to the things you say to yourself. Like I can’t afford something or I am ugly? We all say bad things to and about yourself. We have to forgive ourselves for our negative self-talk. When we do say something negative, we should quickly think of something positive about ourselves.

Affirmations and prayers are another way to help heal negative self-talk. When we hear something repeatedly, it sinks into our mind and we believe what we are hearing.
