#TankaTuesday #Ekphrastic #Poetry Challenge No. 325, 6/20/23 the Challenge

Colleen has come up with another great challenge for us poets this week. I must say it did take me some time to come up with a good one for this challenge.

This #TankaTuesday challenge explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.

I love fine art. This lovely photo came from Rebecca Budd’s blog, Chasing Art.

Many thanks to Rebecca for the inspiration. Thank-you Colleen for another great challenge.

  1. Brenda,

    The rose symbol of the soul

    I’d never thought of that symbolism… I pretty much just took the rose for granted! How beautifully written….

    Much love,
    David

      1. I may have gotten a koan confused concerning the navel being like the center of the universe. When I looked it up again there was more reference to life with the navel being the connection to the mother and birth. It sort of all fits though, I think since there is peace in the womb and peace in the silence of the universe of space.

        so I was making what I thought was a humorous reference with my;

        the navel
        of my table; a
        water cup

        the water (being so needed for life) cup, in being the navel of the (kitchen) table which is often the ‘heart’ of the home.

        Feel free to email me… 🙂
