Poem: The Human Touch

The Human Touch

In our busy lives, consumed by technology’s glow,
We often forget the power of the human touch,
For in this touch, lies a profound unspoken language,
A connection that can heal, illuminate and clutch.

It’s in the touch of a mother, cradling her child,
As her gentle hands caress and soothe their cries.
A warmth that radiates through every inch of their being,
A love that transcends all boundaries and defies.

The touch of a lover, fingers intertwined,
Creating an electric current between two souls,
A dance of intimacy, a symphony of desire,
Sending shivers down spines and making hearts whole.

The touch of a friend, a hand on your shoulder,
A gesture that says “I’m here, you’re not alone.”
In times of triumph or despair, a sense of comfort,
An assurance that you’re safe, that you’ve found your home.

But not every touch is light and tender,
There are those that hurt, that leave scars behind,
Yet even in pain, there’s a profoundness to be found,
For the human touch is not always kind.

But it’s in these moments that we learn and grow,
That we understand the depth of our empathy,
For through pain, we gain compassion and strength,
And realize the transformative power of humanity.

So let us not forget the impact we can make,
Through a simple touch, a gesture, a hug,
For in this fast-paced world, filled with screens and noise,
The human touch is a reminder of our shared love.

So reach out, embrace, hold hands, and heal,
For it’s in the human touch that we come alive,
And as we navigate this chaotic world,
We’ll find solace in the touch that helps us thrive.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
