Poem: Holly Tree

Oh Holly Tree, the great guardian true,
With leaves so sharp, a fortress you create,
Protecting all from harm that may ensue,
Defying winter’s grasp, the cold abates.

Through icy gales and snowflakes in mid-flight,
Your steadfast trunk withstands the fiercest gust,
A testament to resilience and might,
You shield the timid creatures from the thrust.

Beneath your boughs, a haven they find,
From predators and storms, they seek your care,
Nourished by your wisdom, their fears untwined,
They find solace in the stillness you share.

Your berries gleam with scarlet hues so bright,
A gift of life amidst a frozen land,
Providing sustenance through winter’s blight,
A token of hope in nature’s gentle hand.

An emblem of the Yuletide season’s cheer,
Adorned with bells and ribbons, a delight,
You symbolize the joy that’s held so dear,
Awakening hearts to love and peace’s light.

Oh Holly Tree, embodying the past,
Of ancient lore and folklore’s mystic lore,
Through tales and legends, your stature will last,
A guardian revered forevermore.

So stand proud, mighty Holly Tree of might,
Your presence a reminder of nature’s grace,
A symbol of resilience through the night,
Ensuring harmony in this sacred space.

Thank-you for reading.

Many Blessings to all.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie
