Do get distracted, my dear soul,
For life’s path is not a straight line,
Or a linear tale with one goal,
But a tapestry woven, divine.
Do get distracted by the blooming flowers,
Their vibrant hues and sweet fragrance,
Let them whisk away your hours,
In nature’s enchanting dance.
Do get distracted by the gentle rain,
Its rhythmic patter on your window pane,
Listen to its melodies, soothing and plain,
Washing away worries, relieving your strain.
Do get distracted by a child’s laughter,
Pure and carefree, a joyful sound,
Let it lift you up and carry you after,
Innocence’s magic, profound.
Do get distracted by a lover’s gaze,
Their eyes reflecting pure affection,
Feel the warmth of their embrace,
And revel in love’s perfect connection.
Do get distracted by a starry night,
In awe of the universe’s grand design,
And with wonder, contemplate your own plight,
A small part of the cosmos, intertwined.
Do get distracted by a book’s pages,
Where stories and wisdom patiently dwell,
Let them transport you to faraway stages,
And cast upon your soul a binding spell.
Do get distracted by your dreams,
The visions that fuel your inner fire,
Chase them relentlessly, no matter how extreme,
For they are the spark that takes you higher.
Do get distracted by the little things,
For life is found in the details we overlook,
In the moments that joy and happiness brings,
In the paths we wander and the stories we cook.
So do get distracted, my dear friend,
For life is too precious to be confined,
In the busyness that our days often blend,
Embrace distractions and leave no beauty behind.
Thank-you for reading. Many blessings to all.
Much Love and light,
Brenda Marie
