As I watch you fade away,
My heart breaks a little more each day,
A love once strong now withers and dies,
Leaving us both with tear-filled eyes.
We used to laugh and dance in the rain,
But now all that’s left is a constant pain,
The love we had, oh how it was grand,
Now slips through my fingers like sand.
I see the light in your eyes slowly dim,
And it kills me to know I can’t save him,
The memories we shared, so bittersweet,
Are now buried deep, never to repeat.
I try to hold on, to keep you near,
But you slip away, and I’m left with fear,
Fear of watching you disappear,
Into a world I can’t reach, oh so clear.
I beg you, please don’t leave me behind,
But your mind is far gone, lost in time,
I’ll treasure the moments we had together,
Even if they come fewer and farther.
I’ll hold onto the love, in my heart it’ll stay,
Even as I watch you fade away,
In my thoughts and dreams, you’ll remain,
Until we meet again, beyond this pain.
