Poem: Your First True Love

In a world that craves affection,
Where love seems to hold the key,
There’s an important step to take,
Before your heart is set free.

Your first true love should be you,
Embrace your worth, let it shine through,
Discover the depths of your own soul,
And let self-love be your goal.

Cherish the beauty that lies within,
Nurture your spirit, let it begin,
For when you love yourself, you see,
How love can truly set you free.

It’s not selfishness or ego’s reign,
But a gentle embrace devoid of pain,
Learning to trust your own intuition,
And finding solace in self-permission.

Wrap yourself in kindness like a warm embrace,
Accepting flaws with love, not a trace,
For in loving yourself, the world will see,
A reflection of love so pure and free.

You’ll radiate confidence, grace, and charm,
A beacon of love in which others disarm,
For when you love yourself, you stand tall,
And inspire others, one and all.

So take the time, my dear friend,
To mend the wounds, to tend and mend,
For your first true love should be you,
And from there, love will find its way to you.

Thank-you for reading,

Much love and light,

Brenda Marie
