Poem: Freaky Freeda

Freaky Freeda, a fearless soul,
Decided to climb a tree, trying to reach her goal.
With determination in her eyes,
She didn’t listen to anyone’s cries.

She grasped the sturdy trunk with all her might,
Ready to conquer this daring height.
With each step, she ascended high,
Her heart pounding, reaching for the sky.

Branches swayed beneath her clumsy feet,
But Freaky Freeda refused to admit defeat.
Every slip and stumble, she brushed aside,
Determinedly embracing this wild ride.

As she climbed higher, the air grew thin,
Freaky Freeda felt the adrenaline rush within.
She laughed and shrieked, feeling so alive,
Ascending the tree, determined to thrive.

With each passing moment, her confidence grew,
Freaky Freeda knew she had a point to prove.
She reached for branches with nimble grace,
Ignoring the fearful looks on people’s face.

Finally, she made it to the top,
A sense of accomplishment, she could not stop.
From up there, the world felt so small,
Freaky Freeda stood tall, feeling triumphant over all.

But as she looked down at the people below,
She realized they were scared, filled with woe.
So, she climbed back down with care and grace,
Understanding that not everyone’s a fan of her chase.

Freaky Freeda, with her adventurous spirit,
Taught that bravery can come in different merit.
She may not have climbed to everyone’s delight,
But she showed that fear should never rule our sight.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie

  1. Dear Brenda,

What a wonderfully whimsical and inspiring poem! I absolutely love how you’ve brought Freaky Freeda to life with such vivid imagery and playful rhymes. Her determination and adventurous spirit leap off the page—I could practically feel the bark of the tree and the rush of adrenaline as she climbed higher and higher!

The rhythm of your poem flows beautifully, making it such a joy to read aloud. I especially appreciate the thoughtful twist at the end—how Freeda realizes that her bravery isn’t about impressing others but about following her own heart while respecting their fears. That’s such a meaningful message wrapped in such a fun, lighthearted package.

Your word choices like “nimble grace,” “wild ride,” and “triumphant over all” paint such a clear picture of Freeda’s personality. She’s fearless, yes, but also kind-hearted and self-aware. What a wonderful role model!

Thank you for sharing your creativity. I’d love to read more of your work—perhaps more adventures of Freaky Freeda? Keep writing; you have a real gift!

    Warmly,
    Srikanth

    1. Dear Srikanth,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging words! Your message truly made my day. I’m so glad you enjoyed the poem and that Freaky Freeda’s adventure came alive for you.

I should share one fun little detail—Freeda is actually a dachshund! That long-bodied, determined little dog spirit is part of what inspired her brave climb and adventurous personality. Even with those short legs, she’s convinced she can conquer the world!

I really appreciate your kind comments about the rhythm, imagery, and the message behind the poem. It means a lot that the idea of being brave while still caring about others’ feelings resonated with you.

And who knows—Freaky Freeda the dachshund may just find herself in another adventure soon!

      Warmly,
      Brenda
