Poem: Overcome the Emotions

In a world filled with emotions,
A battle within, a constant commotion.
Sometimes they overwhelm, clouding my sight,
But I refuse to let them hold me tight.

With each passing moment, I find strength,
To defy the negativity, go to any length.
For I am the master of my own mind,
I choose to be resilient, leave the negativity behind.

When sadness tries to consume me whole,
I gather courage, let my spirit roll.
I embrace the pain, let it teach and fuel,
To rise above, to conquer, to be a jewel.

Anger may rage, a fire burning bright,
But I control the flames, keep them from blight.
I channel the energy, transform it into grace,
Elevating myself from within, finding my own space.

Fear tries to paralyze, hold me in its grip,
But I break free, refuse to let it strip.
I embrace the unknown, befriend the fright,
For in the darkness, I find my own light.

When love seems distant, lost or denied,
I search within, let self-love override.
I nurture the soul, tend to its needs,
Filling it with love, from the deepest of seeds.

In each triumph over emotions, I grow,
Discovering the strength that’s hidden below.
I unravel the layers, like an infinite maze,
Embracing my essence, in a world ablaze.

So let the emotions flow, I’ll not shy away,
I’ll brave the storms, stand tall come what may.
For I am stronger than the tides that rise,
I’ll overcome the emotions, reaching for the skies.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and light,

Brenda Maie
