Poem: Getting older

As time goes by, we age and grow
And though the years may come and go
There’s beauty in the wrinkles, deep
And wisdom that’s ours to keep

But with age comes aches and pains
And memories that feel like chains
The energy of youth now wanes
As we face life’s harsh refrains

Yet in the quiet moments still
We find a sense of peace, a thrill
For though our bodies may betray
Our spirits never fade away

So let us cherish every day
Embrace the changes that come our way
For getting older may have its downs
But also countless joys that abound

And as we journey through life’s course
We’ll find that age is just a force
That shapes us into who we are
A shining light, a guiding star.

Thank-you for reading,

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie

  1. I adore this stanza Brenda …

“Yet in the quiet moments still

For though our bodies may betray
    Our spirits never fade away”
