Poem: Living from the Heart

In the depths of my soul, a spark is lit,

A flame that burns bright, a fire that’s lit.

It’s the flame of love, of passion and desire,

The flame that guides me, my heart’s one fire.

I’ve learned to listen, to its gentle call,

To trust its whispers, to stand tall.

It’s the voice that speaks, of dreams and desires,

The voice that guides me, through life’s fires.

I’ve learned to follow, its gentle lead,

To trust my instincts, to take the leap.

To let go of fear, of doubt and uncertainty,

And let my heart be the compass, of my destiny.

I’ve learned to be kind, to be compassionate and true,

To see the beauty in you, and all that’s new.

I’ve learned to forgive, to let go of the past,

And live in the present, with an open heart at last.

I’ve learned to live from the heart, not the head,

To follow my intuition, instead of what others have said.

To trust my emotions, and let them guide,

And let my heart be the navigator, of my life.

I’ve learned to love myself, just as I am,

To accept my flaws, and all my drama.

I’ve learned to be gentle, with myself and others too,

And live in harmony, with all that’s true.

So here I’ll stay, in this place of love,

Where my heart is home, and all is well above.

I’ll continue to listen, to its gentle call,

And live from the heart, standing tall.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie
