Poem: Walk Out of the Past

Beneath the old, familiar skies,
Where shadows whisper, time lies still,
The echoes of our laughter rise,
Yet call us forward, bend the will.

Through corridors of fading grace,
Where memories like ghosts will tread,
We trace the paths we used to chase,
But find the future’s light instead.

The dawn, a canvas brushed anew,
Where yesterday’s colors gently blend,
Invites us to a world untrue
To history’s grip, its weary end.

The whispers of the past may sing,
In soft refrains of love and loss,
Yet freedom’s breath on eager wing
Can lift us from that ancient cross.

So walk out from the shadows cast,
Embrace the day, unchain your soul,
For life awaits beyond the glass,
Where dreams and hopes in sunlight stroll.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie
