Guided Meditation for Automatic Writing

Find a Comfortable Space

Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. Sit or lie down in a position that feels relaxed yet alert. Allow your body to settle into the ground beneath you.

Close Your Eyes

Gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Hold it for a moment. Now, exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of any tension. Feel your body begin to relax.

Focus on Your Breath

Bring your attention to your breath. Inhale deeply, feeling your belly rise. Exhale fully, noticing how your body softens. Continue to breathe deeply and steadily. With each breath, imagine inhaling calmness and exhaling any distractions or worries.

Visualize a Safe Space

Now, visualize a serene, safe space—this could be a peaceful garden, a quiet beach, or a cozy room filled with light. Imagine the sights, sounds, and scents of this place. Feel the sense of safety and comfort envelop you.

Connect with Your Inner Self

As you settle into this space, bring your awareness inward. Picture a warm light at your heart center. With each breath, allow this light to expand, filling your entire body with warmth and peace.

Set Your Intention

Now, silently set an intention for your automatic writing. This could be a question you have, a theme you’d like to explore, or simply a desire to let your inner voice express itself freely. Hold this intention gently in your mind.

Invite Your Muse

Imagine a gentle presence beside you—your muse, guide, or inner wisdom. Feel this presence supporting you, encouraging you to let go of expectations. Know that you are safe to express whatever comes to mind.

Begin to Write

When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and take a moment to center yourself. Grab your pen and paper or open your digital device. Allow your hand to move freely as you begin to write. Don’t censor your thoughts; let them flow naturally. Trust the process, knowing that whatever comes through is valid.

Stay Present

If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to your breath. Remember your intention and invite your muse to guide your writing. Allow the words to come without judgment.

Closing the Meditation

When you feel complete, take a few moments to read what you’ve written. Reflect on any insights or feelings that arise. Thank your muse for their guidance.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, gently close your writing session. Bring your awareness back to the present moment, feeling the surface beneath you and the air around you.

When you’re ready, open your eyes fully, feeling refreshed and inspired.

Conclusion

You can return to this meditation whenever you wish to connect with your inner voice and explore your thoughts through automatic writing. Trust in the process, and enjoy the journey of discovery.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
