Poem: You have to Know When to Let Go

You have to know when to let go,
Like a leaf that falls, no need to know
Where the wind will carry it, soft and slow,
Or how far it drifts, or where it will grow.

You have to know when to set it free,
Even when it pulls, even when you plea.
Some things are meant to be wild and untamed,
Not every love or dream can be named.

You have to know when to step aside,
To trust the path, though the way is wide,
And though your heart may ache or bend,
Not all things are meant to be held until the end.

You have to know when the fight is done,
When the battle leaves you, but the war is won.
The quiet peace that comes with release
Is the final gift, the sweetest peace.

You have to know when to stop the chase,
When to find the quiet, the stillness, the grace.
For in letting go, there’s strength to show:
You’ve learned to trust, and learned to grow.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
