Poem: I Needed You

They say dogs come into our lives when we need them the most. Freeda came into my life, when my family was going through a very trying time. Needless to say, she brought some light, into a very dark time in my life. I am blessed to have this little sweetheart in my life.

I Needed You

You came to me when shadows fell,
When all seemed lost, when hope grew frail.
In moments dark, when tears would flow,
You whispered softly, letting me know.

Your presence warm, like morning light,
Chasing away the longest night.
A gentle hand to hold me near,
A voice to calm my deepest fear.

Through tangled thoughts and restless dreams,
You found me there, or so it seems.
A quiet strength, a steady guide,
You stayed with me, right by my side.

In silence shared, no words required,
You soothed the wounds that once expired.
I learned in time, through joy and cost,
That you came to me when I was lost.

And in your grace, I found my way,
Through darkest night, to brighter day.
For you, my anchor, strong and true,
Came to me when I needed you.
