Poem: Lost in a Dream

Lost in a dream, where time stands still,
A world unfolds, against my will.
Colors swirl in soft embrace,
A fleeting touch, a tender space.

I wander through this boundless sky,
With wings that whisper, yet can’t fly.
The echoes of a distant song,
A melody that feels so wrong.

I chase the stars, I chase the light,
But shadows turn the day to night.
A path that winds, a road unseen,
I walk it blind, where I’ve been.

Faces fade, like misty streams,
Vanishing into silent beams.
I reach for hands that aren’t quite real,
And grasp at what I cannot feel.

The world around me softly hums,
A place where nothing ever comes.
Yet in this dream, I find my peace,
A world where all my fears cease.

But as the dawn begins to gleam,
I wake to find I’ve lost the dream.
A fading thought, a whispered trace,
I long to find that sacred place.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
