Poem: Let Go of the Past

Let go of the past, it’s a whisper in the breeze,
A shadow that fades with the setting of the trees.
The moments once held, now slip through your hands,
Like grains of sand lost to distant lands.

The hurt, the regret, the stories we told,
They linger like memories, both timid and bold.
But time is a river, always flowing ahead,
And clinging to what was keeps you tethered instead.

Release the weight of what you can’t change,
Step into the present, where freedom feels strange.
Let go of the chains that keep you confined,
And open your heart to the peace you can find.

The past is a chapter, but you’re the author now,
Write a new story, and take a new vow.
To forgive, to surrender, to be here, to be free,
And trust that the future is all you can see.

So let go, let go, with love and with grace,
For you are not defined by the past you erase.
In the stillness, the truth begins to unfold—
The best is yet to come, and it’s waiting to be told.

Thank you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
