Poem: Working Through the Pain

Through aching limbs and fractured heart,
I gather strength from broken parts.
Each step a struggle, slow and tight,
But I rise again, I fight the night.

The weight of tears, the sting of loss,
Still I walk, no matter the cost.
Each breath is heavy, every sigh a scar,
Yet through the dark, I chase the star.

Pain, my companion, whispers near,
But I stand tall, despite the fear.
I hold the shards, a fragile whole,
Each crack a story of a scarred soul.

But in the breaking, I find release,
In the struggle, there’s quiet peace.
Through the pain, I learn to mend,
And find in darkness, light again.

So though the road is rough and steep,
I carry on, though weary, deep.
For with each tear, each silent plea,
I’m healing slowly, just to be free.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
