Poem: Happy to See the Sun

Oh, how the sun spills gold on the day,
Waking the world in its gentle way.
Stretching its fingers through skies so blue,
Kissing the earth with a warmth that’s new.

I step outside, and my heart takes flight,
Chasing the warmth, basking in light.
The shadows retreat, the clouds slip away,
In the sun’s embrace, I choose to stay.

The birds sing louder, the flowers sway,
As if the world’s been given a brand-new play.
Each ray a promise, each glow a cheer,
Happy to see the sun reappear.

For after the rain, and the long, cold night,
There’s nothing more beautiful than this golden sight.
A reminder that no storm can last too long,
And after the dark, we find our song.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
