Poem: Pain from Within

Pain from Within

A shadow lingers, deep inside,
Where silent echoes do abide.
It whispers loud, yet none can hear,
A constant ache, a quiet fear.

It rises like a restless tide,
With every tear that I can’t hide,
A storm that swirls, yet has no name,
Just burning embers, just the flame.

The heart it fractures, slowly breaks,
Each beat, a quake, each breath, a shake.
The wounds unseen, they throb, they burn,
And teach me lessons I can’t learn.

It weaves a thread of endless night,
A labyrinth without the light.
I search for peace, but none appears,
Just tangled thoughts, and uncried tears.

Yet still, I breathe, though bruised and torn,
For pain from within can’t leave me worn—
It is the force that shapes the soul,
The heavy weight that makes me whole.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
