Poem: Dreams Revisited

Dreams Revisited

I once held dreams in the palm of night,
Soft as whispers, glowing in starlit flight.
They fluttered like wings, delicate and free,
Dancing through spaces only I could see.

But time, like the tide, pulled them away,
Fading in shadows, lost in the fray.
Yet tonight, as the world settles in deep,
I find those dreams that I once did keep.

They come back to me, quiet and bold,
Whispers of stories from days of old.
The laughter, the hope, the unspoken prayer,
All the promises made in the still of air.

I chase them again through twilight’s embrace,
Finding pieces of a forgotten place.
In the quiet of sleep, they quietly bloom,
Reaching for light from the darkened gloom.

And though they may fade when morning’s near,
I know they’ll return when night reappears.
For dreams, like the stars, never truly depart,
They linger forever, within the heart.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie

  1. Another beautiful poem Brenda 🌷🤝 This poem is a tender ode to the resilience of dreams—how they slip away, yet return like stars in the night. The imagery of dreams as delicate, fluttering things contrasts with their enduring presence in the heart. There’s a quiet hope here, a reassurance that what we cherish in the dark never truly leaves us. A lovely, comforting reflection.
