Poem: Lost in the Pain

Lost in the pain, I drift, I fall,
A shadow stretched against the wall.
No voice can reach, no hand can find
The tangled wreckage of my mind.

It wraps around like winter’s chill,
A silence that refuses still.
Each breath a stone, each step a weight,
Each hour another twist of fate.

I call for light, but none appears,
Just echoes made of old regrets and fears.
The world moves on, as if I’m not—
A name forgotten, a face forgot.

I used to hope, I used to try,
But now I only ask “why cry?”
When every tear just falls in vain,
And no one sees the shape of pain.

Yet in this dark, a flicker stays—
A fragile flame through empty days.
It does not speak, it does not shine,
But dares to whisper: “Still, you’re mine.”

For pain may drown and pull me deep,
But somewhere strength has yet to sleep.
And though I’m lost, I still remain—
A soul still breathing in the rain.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
