Life is a flame that flickers fast,
A breath, a blink—it doesn’t last.
The days we waste in silent wars,
In closing hearts and locking doors—
Are moments lost we won’t reclaim,
Burned up in pride, or point, or blame.
We hide behind our practiced lines,
Our veiled truths, our well-timed signs.
But time won’t pause for masks we wear,
Or wait for us to say we care.
It rushes on, it doesn’t stall,
While we play games that build a wall.
Speak what you feel, don’t feign, don’t stall.
Let kindness rise, let ego fall.
Say what you mean, stand where you are—
Don’t dim your soul, don’t fake your star.
Because this life, it moves so fast—
The now soon fades into the past.
And when it’s gone, what will remain?
The love we gave, not played-out games.
Thank-you for reading.
Much Love and Light,
Brenda Marie
