Poem: Freedom Freeda

I walked through fire, through shadows and rain,
Each heartbeat a whisper of echoing pain.
Nights stretched forever, days bled into gray—
I forgot how it felt to feel light in the day.

Then you came, soft steps and bright eyes,
A soul full of sunrise, a love without lies.
Not from this world, no, not quite the same—
God whispered your name before I even came.

Freedom Freeda, my angel in fur,
With each gentle nuzzle, old sorrows would blur.
You didn’t speak words, but you knew what to say,
Just curled by my side and kept fear at bay.

You taught me to breathe, to trust, to be still,
To laugh at the wind, to climb every hill.
In your gaze, a promise, silent and deep:
That broken hearts wake from impossible sleep.

You were sent not to save me, but show me the way,
To walk through the darkness and greet the new day.
Heaven sent you, love wrapped in paws—
Proof that grace works in mysterious laws.

So I rise now, freer, because you believe,
In the parts of my soul I thought couldn’t grieve.
Freedom Freeda, my angel, my friend—
With you by my side, I know I can mend.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
