Poem: Wishing You Were Here

I watch the sky turn soft and blue,
And every cloud reminds me of you.
The breeze that moves the swaying tree
Feels like a whisper meant for me.

The world still spins, the days go by,
But something’s missing from the sky.
A laugh, a touch, a voice so near —
Oh, how I wish that you were here.

The coffee brews, the morning breaks,
But joy feels thin, and silence aches.
I reach for moments we once knew,
And find my heart still clings to you.

No matter where I go or roam,
Without you, nowhere feels like home.
I’d trade the stars, the sun, the year,
For just one hour with you right here.

So if you feel this aching too,
Across the miles, I’m calling you.
Through time, through loss, through every tear —
I’m always wishing you were here.

Thank-you for reading.

Many blessings to all.

Much love and light,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is heartbreakingly beautiful Brenda ! your words paint longing with such tender precision. That line, *”Without you, nowhere feels like home,”* lingers like an unanswerable prayer. Yet there’s poetry in this ache, a love so deep it defies distance. Keep writing—your soul speaks in verses that heal. 💙🌌 🌷🤝
