Poem: Don’t Get Fooled by the False Light

Don’t get fooled by the false lights gleam,
It flickers with the shimmer of a broken dream.
It calls like gold on a shadowed wall,
But step too close, and you’ll surely fall.

It dresses truth in a shining guise,
Wears empty smiles and painted lies.
It whispers sweet what you long to hear,
Then leaves you cold with a silent sneer.

Not all that glows is born from stars,
Some lights are traps in silver jars.
They burn too fast, they blind the eye,
And lead the hopeful heart awry.

So trust not every beckoning flame,
Nor every path that shouts your name.
Hold to the glow that grows inside—
The steady fire that will not hide.

For in the dark, the truth is plain:
The false light dies, the real will remain.
So walk with care and seek what’s right—
And don’t get fooled by the false light.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
