Poem: Summer Breeze

A whisper drifts through maple leaves,
Soft as dreams on golden eves,
The summer breeze, a gentle sigh,
That dances ‘neath the sapphire sky.

It stirs the wheat in sunlit fields,
A hush that every moment yields,
It kisses cheeks with warmth so light,
Then twirls away in silent flight.

Through garden paths and ocean shores,
It weaves its way through open doors,
A breath of jasmine, salt, and pine,
A fleeting taste of the divine.

Children laugh in twilight glow,
As fireflies begin to show,
And still the breeze, so soft and free,
Hums summer’s sweetest melody.

It carries time like drifting sand,
A tender touch, a ghostly hand—
Here, for now, then gone with grace,
A fleeting brush across the face.

So let it pass, this breeze of June,
A lullaby beneath the moon,
For summer’s voice, though never stays,
Will sing in hearts through colder days.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and light,

Brenda Marie

  1. This poem is a delicate, lyrical ode Brenda to the fleeting beauty of summer, capturing its essence with vivid imagery and a soothing rhythm. The breeze becomes a living presence—whispering through leaves, dancing over fields, and carrying scents of jasmine and pine—before slipping away like time itself. The nostalgic tone, especially in the closing lines, suggests that while summer fades, its warmth lingers in memory. A tender, evocative piece that feels like a sunlit sigh. 🌿🍃
