Poem: Darkness Into Light

AI generated

There was a time the night held tight,
Its silence deep, the stars not right,
And every path was lost from view,
Each breath a weight I barely knew.

The moon would hide behind her veil,
The winds would whisper ghostly tales,
And even dreams would turn away,
Afraid to touch the edge of day.

But slowly, softly, time did turn—
The shadows shrank, the embers burned,
A crack appeared, then spread, then wide—
And morning spilled its golden tide.

The coldest dark, I came to find,
Was not a tomb, but forged the mind,
To feel the light not as a glare,
But as a hand that found me there.

The light did not arrive in pride,
It crept in closer and knelt beside,
It taught me how to lift my face,
And walk again in open grace.

So if you’re lost in endless night,
Just wait—there will be dawn, and right.
For every dusk that claims the sky
Must one day bow as light walks by.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
