Poem: Where Has All the Love Gone?

Where has all the love gone,
That once bloomed wild and wide?
Now echoes fill the silence
Where soft hearts used to hide.

The streets are lit with neon,
But cold the people pass—
Eyes downcast, hearts in armor,
Like ghosts behind the glass.

We used to write with fingers
On foggy windowpanes,
Now we scroll through broken moments
And swipe away the pain.

The songs we sang are hollow,
Their verses fade like mist—
We traded touch for typing,
And warmth for a digital kiss.

Where is the whispered laughter,
The breath beneath a sigh?
Now even the stars seem distant
In a pixelated sky.

But maybe love’s not vanished,
Just hidden, bruised, or small—
A flicker in the darkness,
Still waiting for a call.

So ask not where it’s vanished,
But how we let it stray,
And learn to plant it gently
In hearts we meet each day.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty
