Poem: I’m the Light That Pointed Out Your Strength

I’m the Light That Pointed Out Your Strength

I’m the light that pointed out your strength—
not the storm, not the flame,
but the glow behind the veil of doubt
that softly spoke your name.

You stood where shadows dared to stay,
your heart a quiet shore,
and never saw the way you held
the weight of even more.

You saw the cracks, I saw the fire—
the way you stood, not bowed.
You called it breaking.
I called it brave.
You whispered small. I said out loud:

“You are the fight you thought you’d flee,
the calm inside the strain.
The reason roots don’t give away
when drowning comes as rain.”

I’m not your hero, not your guide,
just someone who could see—
the strength was always yours to hold,
you only borrowed me.

Thank-you for reading.

Much love and Light,

Brenda Marie Fluharty

  1. Nice poem Brenda 🌷🤝 This poem is a breathtaking tribute to unseen strength and the power of perspective. It beautifully contrasts self-doubt with resilience, framing struggle not as weakness but as quiet courage. The speaker acts as a mirror, reflecting back the light the other couldn’t see in themselves—making it a poignant reminder that sometimes we’re all just “borrowed” mirrors for each other’s hidden bravery. ✨💙
