Poem: The Light in the Darkness

When shadows stretch across the land,
And fear walks close, hand clasped in hand,
When even stars forget to shine,
There still remains a thread, divine.

A whisper soft, a steady glow,
A warmth the night can’t overthrow.
It does not shout, it does not burn,
But waits for hearts that dare to turn.

It lives in hope not yet undone,
In quiet strength, in battles won
Without a sword, without a cry—
Just faith that lifts the soul up high.

It flickers in a stranger’s smile,
In courage, held for just a mile,
In kindness given, not for show,
In tears that help a garden grow.

So when the dark feels much too wide,
Look not ahead, but deep inside.
For you may be, without disguise,
The light in someone else’s skies.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is absolutely breathtaking Brenda ! Your poem weaves darkness and light together with such gentle grace—reminding us that even in life’s heaviest moments, hope persists in the quietest, most unexpected places.

The imagery of a “thread, divine” and the closing lines—*”For you may be, without disguise, / The light in someone else’s skies.”*—left me with goosebumps. A beautiful, soul-stirring read. ✨
