Poem: You Are What You Are Seeking

You wander far with open hands,
Across the seas, through shifting sands,
You chase a light that seems to flee—
A dream of who you’re “meant to be.”

You ask the skies, the stars, the sage,
You turn each line on every page,
You beg the world to make you whole,
To name the longing in your soul.

But hush—
What if the search, the climb, the quest
Is just your heart in pilgrim’s dress?
And what you seek beyond the veil
Is you, beneath the fear and frail?

That love you crave? It lives inside.
That truth you chase? It does not hide.
The peace you pray for every night
Is kindled in your own faint light.

You are the path, the flame, the key,
The voice that calls from mystery.
The map was never lost or torn—
It’s in the self you’ve always worn.

No mountaintop, no mystic lore,
No distant temple, locked-tight door—
Can show you what you yearn to know
If you won’t look where roots must grow.

So pause the race. Just breathe. Be still.
Let silence shape you, bend your will.
You are the truth, the spark, the gleam—
The seeker, and the sought-for dream.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
