Poem: No Need to Hold Onto the Pain

There’s no need to hold onto the pain,Like walking through life in a cold, bitter rain.
It clings to your shoulders, it weighs down your soul,
But letting it go is what makes you whole.

The past doesn’t ask you to suffer each day,
It whispered its lesson, then wandered away.
Still, you carry its echo like thorns in your skin,
When healing begins by releasing within.

You are not broken, just weathered and wise—
A storm may have darkened your once-clear skies,
But light finds a way through the smallest of cracks,
And strength isn’t found in looking back.

So set down the sorrow, the anger, the blame,
They burn like a fire but leave you the same.
You don’t have to prove that you’ve suffered enough—
Just breathing, just being, is powerful stuff.

There’s no need to hold onto the pain—
Let it slip from your fingers like drops in the rain.
What stays is your courage, your voice, your flame—
And none of those things need to carry the shame.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
