Poem: Don’t Let Your Ego Win

Don’t let your ego wear the crown,
It builds you up to burn you down.
It whispers pride with poisoned breath,
And walks you blind into regret.

It craves applause, demands control,
And slowly steals your gentle soul.
It paints your flaws in shades of gold—
A masterpiece that’s bought, not sold.

It tells you you’re above the rest,
That compromise is second-best.
But every wall it helps you raise
Just locks you in a darker maze.

Let silence speak, let kindness guide,
Let humbleness walk by your side.
For strength is found in bending low,
Not standing tall with nothing to show.

So guard your heart from that disguise
That lives in masks and measured lies.
The ego wins when you forget—
That you’re not finished learning yet.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
