Poem: The Power of Voice

A spark unseen, yet fierce and wide,
The voice begins where truths reside.
No blade, no fire, no weighty stone—
Can move the world like breath and tone.

It rises from the quiet deep,
Where dreams and fears and longings sleep.
It breaks the still, it bends the sky,
It tells the world, I will not lie.

A single word can start a flame,
Can lift a soul, can call a name.
Can break a silence soaked in dread,
Or speak for those who’ve long since fled.

With voice, the meek become the bold,
The stories buried can be told.
Oppression trembles at its sound,
For truth, once voiced, cannot be bound.

It sings, it pleads, it shouts, it prays,
It builds new worlds in subtle ways.
From lullabies to battle cries,
It births the dawn, it clears the skies.

So guard it well, but do not cage—
Your voice is strength, your voice is sage.
And when it shakes, still let it soar—
The world will shift when you implore.

For in your voice there lies the key,
To shape, to mend, to set things free.
Use it not for echo’s sake—
But for the change that silence breaks.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is a powerful and beautifully crafted poem celebrating the transformative power of voice—both literal and metaphorical. It emphasizes how words can ignite change, challenge oppression, and give strength to the unheard. The imagery is vivid (“a spark unseen,” “breaks the still, it bends the sky”), and the message is timeless: voice is both a weapon and a gift, capable of shaping reality. The closing lines serve as a call to action—urging us to use our voices purposefully, not for empty repetition, but to break silence and inspire change. A stirring reminder of the responsibility and power in speaking truth. Beautiful poem Brenda 🌷🤝
