Poem: Walk by the River

AI Generated

I walk by the river at break of day,
Where silence and song entwine the way.
Mist like a veil on the water lies,
Soft as a secret, calm as the skies.

The trees lean in with whispers old,
Their branches brushed with morning gold.
A heron lifts in graceful flight,
A shadow passing into light.

The pebbles glisten beneath my feet,
A path of time, worn smooth and sweet.
Each step a thought, each breath a prayer,
The river listens, always there.

It speaks in ripples, hush and flow,
Of places only waters know—
Of storms it’s seen, of stars it’s kissed,
Of lives that bloomed and passed in mist.

I walk and leave no mark behind,
Just peace threading through heart and mind.
The world is wide, yet in this sliver,
I find my soul beside the river.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

  1. This poem beautifully captures the serene and reflective experience of walking by the river at dawn. The imagery is vivid—mist like a veil, whispering trees, a heron in flight—painting a tranquil scene. The river becomes a silent witness to time, change, and fleeting moments, offering peace and a sense of connection to something greater. The gentle rhythm and lyrical language evoke a meditative calm, leaving the reader with a quiet, lingering sense of solace. Lovely work! Brenda 🌷🤝
