Poem: The Love That Lives in Me

There is a love that doesn’t fade,
Not born of touch or vows once made—
It’s older than the words I speak,
And deeper than the days and weeks.

It isn’t worn on sleeve or skin,
But flows in quietness within.
Not bound by time or who can see—
It’s just a part, a piece of me.

It shaped my thoughts before I knew
What longing was, or what was true.
It sings beneath my every breath,
And will not end with time or death.

It’s not the love that pleads or begs,
Or rushes in on trembling legs.
It simply is—it stands, it stays,
A constant light through shifting days.

No need for names, no need to prove,
This love does not demand to move.
It roots me firm, it makes me whole—
A quiet heartbeat in my soul.

So if you ask what guides me through,
What lifts me up, what pulls me to—
It’s not a face, a fleeting spark,
But love that burns within the dark.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
