We say, “I’ll do it soon enough,”
As if time’s thread is strong and tough,
As if the sun will rise on cue,
And skies will always hold their blue.
We tuck away our hopes and plans,
Like folded notes in careful hands,
Promising they’ll see the light
Sometime tomorrow—just not tonight.
We save our words for safer days,
Delay the praise, the kindest phrase,
We dream, but never plant the seed,
We want, but rarely name the need.
But clocks don’t wait for second tries,
And even stars fall from the skies.
The things we meant, the songs unsung,
Fade with the breath held in our lungs.
So speak it now, don’t hold your truth,
Touch the old, forgive in youth.
Because the weight of silent drums
Is knowing sometime never comes.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.
Follow your own path,

This is beautifully poignant and so deeply true. You’ve captured the quiet tragedy of procrastination and the weight of “someday” with grace and power. A much-needed reminder to speak and act now, before the moment slips away. Thank you for sharing this Brenda 🌷🤝
