Poem: Life Is Short

Life is short, a fleeting flame,
A whisper in the wind, a name
Etched lightly on the edge of time,
A borrowed beat, a borrowed rhyme.

The morning fades to afternoon,
The stars come out, then leave too soon.
We chase the sun, we grasp, we fall,
And wonder if we’ve lived at all.

But in the blink, the breath, the spark,
There’s laughter sung against the dark.
A touch, a word, a moment’s grace—
A smile upon a stranger’s face.

So love out loud, and speak your truth,
Hold on to wonder, waste your youth.
Forgive the past, embrace the start—
And carry light within your heart.

For life is short, but wide and deep,
A garden sown in dreams we keep.
So live it well, and don’t delay—
The stars are out. Begin today.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
