Guided Journey to Connect to Your Life Purpose

The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso

Preparation: Create a Sacred Space (5 mins)

Before beginning, take a moment to set the stage for a deep inner journey.

  • Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

  • Light a candle or incense (optional).

  • Have a notebook or journal and a pen nearby.

  • Silence your phone and remove distractions.

  • Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.

🌬️ Part 1: Breathwork – Clear the Noise (10-15 mins)

Breathwork helps release mental clutter, regulate emotions, and open the body-mind connection. This session will use conscious connected breathing.

Note: If you are pregnant or have a respiratory or cardiovascular condition, consult a medical professional before doing breathwork.

🌬️ Conscious Connected Breathing Practice (10 minutes)

  1. Start with grounding:

    • Close your eyes.

    • Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly.

    • Inhale deeply through your nose for 4 counts.

    • Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.

    • Repeat this for 2 minutes.

  2. Begin circular breath:

    • Inhale through your mouth into your belly, then your chest — smoothly.

    • Exhale out the mouth without pausing.

    • Breathe in-out-in-out without holding your breath — like a wave.

    • Keep the breath relaxed but connected — no pause between inhale and exhale.

  3. Continue for 6–8 minutes:

    • Let any emotions, thoughts, or sensations arise without judgment.

    • If tears come, let them.

    • If resistance comes, breathe through it.

  4. Close the session:

    • Return to slow nose breathing.

    • Place your hands over your heart.

    • Whisper silently or aloud:

“I am open to receiving clarity. I am safe. I am whole.”

🔍 Part 2: Self-Inquiry – Asking the Right Questions (15-20 mins)

Now that you’re in a clearer state, we move into inner dialogue. This step is for journaling, but you can also sit with each question in meditation.

Take your journal and spend 3–5 minutes on each prompt.

📝 Life Purpose Journal Prompts:

  1. What activities make me lose track of time?
(Think of what lights you up, when you feel most “in flow.”)

  2. What pain or struggle have I overcome that I feel called to help others with?

  3. If I had unlimited time, money, and support — what would I spend my life doing?

  4. What did I love doing as a child before the world told me who to be?

  5. What kind of legacy do I want to leave behind?
(Think of values, impact, not just achievements.)

  6. Who do I admire most — and what qualities or work of theirs do I deeply resonate with?

  7. Where in life do I feel I’m hiding or holding back — and what might change if I stepped into my full self?

Once you’ve completed this journaling, read your answers out loud if possible. Listen to what themes or passions arise.

Part 3: Visualization – Meeting Your Higher Self (10 mins)

This guided visualization helps you tap into a deeper version of yourself — one who already knows your life purpose.

🧘‍♀️ Guided Visualization Script (can be read aloud or recorded):

Sit comfortably, close your eyes. Begin to slow your breath.

Inhale… and exhale… Feel your body become heavy and relaxed.

Visualize yourself walking through a peaceful forest. You hear the sounds of birds, leaves beneath your feet, a soft breeze.

As you walk, you approach a clearing. In the center is a wise figure sitting by a small fire. This is your Higher Self — a version of you that is fully aligned with your purpose.

You sit across from them, feeling safe, calm, and seen.

Ask them:
“What is my purpose?”

Wait and listen. You may hear words… see images… or simply feel an answer.

Ask:
“What is one next step I can take toward living it?”

Sit in this space for a few more moments. Thank your Higher Self, and begin to walk back through the forest… returning slowly to the present.

Wiggle your fingers… take a deep breath… and open your eyes.

Take time to journal what came up.

🌱 Part 4: Anchoring Purpose into Daily Life (10 mins)

Knowing your purpose is powerful — but living it requires intention.

🌟 Integration Exercise:

  1. Write a 1-sentence “Purpose Statement”:
Use this template or make your own:

“My purpose is to [contribution] by [how you do it] so that [impact].”
Example: “My purpose is to inspire others by telling authentic stories so that they feel less alone.”

  2. Create a “Purpose Anchor”:
Pick one small action you can do daily or weekly to stay connected to this purpose.
    Examples:

    • Journaling or meditating for 5 minutes on your purpose

    • Sharing your story online

    • Volunteering in a related field

    • Saying a mantra each morning: “I remember who I am.”

  3. Optional: Make a vision board
Collect images, quotes, or symbols that represent your purpose. Put it where you can see it daily.

🌀 Closing: Acknowledgment + Breath (3 mins)

Sit with your hand on your heart. Close your eyes.

Breathe in deeply… and out.

Repeat to yourself:

“I may not have all the answers yet, but I trust the path is unfolding.”
“My purpose is not outside of me — it is within me.”
“I am ready to live fully, with courage and clarity.”

 Final Notes:

  • Your life purpose isn’t always one fixed thing — it may evolve.

  • You don’t have to monetize your purpose. Sometimes it’s how you live, not what you do.

  • You don’t need to have it all figured out today. Clarity comes through action.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
