Poem: Falling in Love with You All Over Again

It wasn’t a moment, loud or grand,
No fireworks lit by a trembling hand—
Just morning light on your sleeping face,
And suddenly, my heart found its place.

I knew your laugh, your every line,
The way your fingers slip into mine,
But still, somehow, without a cue,
I’m falling in love all over with you.

Not like before, all sparks and flame—
This time it’s quieter, but just the same.
It’s in the way you say my name,
And how the world feels less to tame.

It’s watching you dance in the kitchen light,
Socks on tile, your shirt too tight—
It’s small, it’s wild, it’s achingly true—
This endless, sweet rediscovery of you.

I loved you then, and I love you still,
But now it’s deeper, soft and real.
Not just the dream, but the morning after—
The mess, the peace, the echo of laughter.

And if tomorrow asks me to choose
Through all I’ve gained or all I could lose—
I’d pick the path that leads me again
To falling in love with you… and then again.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
