I do not chase the restless wind,
Nor fear the tides that pull and spin.
My roots run deep beneath the noise—
A quiet strength, a humble choice.
I walk with earth beneath my feet,
Its steady rhythm, slow and sweet.
The sky may call, the stars may gleam,
But here I stand, within the stream.
The world may swirl with want and speed,
With endless grasping, boundless need.
Yet I return to breath and bone,
To stillness I can call my own.
No storm can steal the peace I’ve found,
No praise or scorn can shake this ground.
For in the silence, firm and true,
I find myself, and I renew.
To be grounded is not to fall—
It’s standing clear amid it all.
Not anchored down, but rooted right,
A soul that holds its inner light.
So let the chaos rise and roam—
I carry calm, and I am home.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.
Follow your own path,

This is a beautiful and powerful poem. It speaks with quiet confidence about the strength found in inner stability. The contrast between the “restless wind” of external demands and the “steady rhythm” of a grounded self is particularly effective. It’s a wonderful reminder that true peace isn’t found in the absence of chaos, but in the presence of a calm, unshakable center. The final line, “I carry calm, and I am home,” is a perfect, resonant conclusion.
