🌳 Guided Meditation: Connecting to the Trees

Begin by finding a comfortable position — sitting or lying down, preferably somewhere you feel safe and at ease. If you’re outdoors, perhaps you’re sitting beneath a tree. If you’re indoors, simply bring a tree to mind — one you know, one you’ve seen, or one you imagine.

1. Settle and Breathe

Gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in… and a slow breath out.
Again — inhale… and exhale.
Let the rhythm of your breath begin to slow you down.
Let your body begin to soften.
Let the earth beneath you hold your weight.

Feel yourself arriving… here… now.

2. Tune Into the Environment

As you breathe, begin to expand your awareness.
If you’re outdoors, feel the air, the temperature, the scent of the earth.
If you’re indoors, invite your imagination to take you to a grove of trees — tall, wise, ancient.

Feel the presence of the trees around you.
Notice their stillness. Their quiet strength. Their patience.

3. Feel the Roots

Now, gently bring your attention to your feet, or the base of your spine.
Visualize roots growing from your body, down into the earth.
With each breath, these roots go deeper… spreading wide… anchoring you to the ground.

Feel the solid, grounded connection — just like the trees have.
Rooted. Present. Supported.

You are part of the earth, just like they are.

4. Connect With the Tree

Now, bring your awareness to one particular tree.
See its trunk — strong, textured, weathered with time.
Look up at its branches stretching toward the sky.
Notice the leaves, dancing gently in the wind.
This tree is alive, breathing — just like you.

Approach the tree — physically or in your mind — and rest your hand or your energy on its trunk.
Feel its pulse… slow, steady, ancient.

Take a breath in — and imagine breathing in the tree’s energy: calm, grounded, wise.
Exhale, and offer your energy in return — open, grateful, present.

Let this exchange continue…
Breathing in peace, breathing out presence.
Breathing in wisdom, breathing out gratitude.

5. Receive the Message

Now, in this quiet connection, allow yourself to receive.
Maybe a word comes.
Or a feeling.
Or maybe just the silence — full and sacred.

What does the tree want you to know?

Just listen.

Take a few more breaths here, allowing the connection to deepen.

6. Return Gently

When you’re ready, begin to bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel your breath again — in… and out.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Feel your roots gently dissolve, leaving you grounded, but free.

Take one more deep breath in…
And exhale slowly.

When you’re ready, gently open your eyes.

🌿 Closing Intention

You are always welcome to return to the trees — in body, in mind, in spirit.
Their wisdom is quiet, but always available to those who listen.

Carry their stillness with you.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
