you have to go deep to heal
you have to go deep
where the light thins out
and memory speaks in riddles.
past the surface wounds
that scab for show—
go where it aches
in the quietest way.
you have to dig
beneath the stories you told
to survive,
beneath the names you took
to be loved,
beneath the silence
you mistook for peace.
there is a door
in the dark you sealed
with fear,
and it waits
for your trembling hand.
you have to go deep
where the salt of grief
meets the marrow of truth.
you will bleed clarity.
you will cry in old tongues.
but there—
in the raw of what was never said,
never grieved,
never touched—
you will find
your beginning.
and healing
will not be loud,
but holy.

This is breathtakingly profound. You’ve captured the terrifying, sacred journey of true healing with such raw clarity and grace. The imagery of “bleeding clarity” and crying in “old tongues” is particularly powerful. A beautiful reminder that our deepest wounds hold our most authentic beginnings. Thank you for sharing this gift.
Thank-you so much
