Poem: Face Your Darker Emotions

Face Your Darker Emotions

Don’t turn your eyes from shadow’s reach,
It waits where silence dares to teach.
Not all that haunts you seeks your end—
Some ghosts arrive to help you mend.

Beneath the rage, a tremble lies,
A wounded child who learned disguise.
Behind the fear, a voice once small
Still whispers truths beyond the wall.

Let sorrow speak, don’t hush its sound,
It blooms where healing might be found.
Let guilt be heard, let shame confess—
Their weight is less when you say “yes.”

Invite the storm into your chest,
Don’t chase it out or fake your best.
For only when you stand alone
With every crack and break you’ve known,
Can light begin its quiet rise
Through honest heart and open eyes.

So face the dark—not to destroy,
But to reclaim your buried joy.
The pain you fear, the grief you shun—
They’re part of you, not to outrun.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,
